East Longmeadow is a town in Hampden County in Western Massachusetts. It’s approximately 5 miles Southeast of Springfield, 25 miles North of Hartford, Connecticut and 88 miles from Boston. East Longmeadow is home to just over 16,000 local residents as of 2020 and has a total land area of approximately 13 square miles.
East Longmeadow, holds a vast amount of history and was first settled in 1720 as Longmeadow, known as the East Village. It was very well known for its stone quarries up until the early 1900’s when brick replaced stone. In 1894, East Longmeadow was officially incorporated. Now both Longmeadow and East Longmeadow compete in an annual Thanksgiving day football game.
Somewhere to visit here in East Longmeadow would be the Heritage Park, which is a large park with ponds, baseball and soccer fields, as well as a picnic area. The town was once the home of the Milton Bradley Company, the famous board game manufacturer.
